Take the Stress out of Organic Chemistry and Achieve Success with a Professional Tutor

Organic Chemistry can be an overwhelming and frustrating experience but it doesn’t have to be. Many people, both faculty and students, will tell you that the key to success in the course is doing as many practice problems as possible. While it is true that practice with the material is vital, it is not the whole story. I have learned through tutoring the course extensively that the students who excel have several defining traits that lead to success. All of these students begin tutoring sessions before they encounter problems in the course. They may begin reviewing the course material prior to the beginning of the course or possibly throughout the summer or winter break. Whether they begin tutoring sessions prior to or at the start of the course, they will begin sessions well in advance of the first exam to ensure they are not cramming the material right before being tested on it. These students also come to sessions with a plan of action. They know what they want to accomplish in the session and they know how to go about doing so. A session may entail reviewing class lecture notes for a better understanding of the topics, working on practice problems, or a combination of review and practice in preparation for a quiz or exam. All of these students use the tools at their disposal, their professor, textbook, and tutoring sessions, to achieve their academic goals. I’ve tailored my tutoring services based on what I have learned from these students and their success stories. Services that I offer include:

Extensive review of course material prior to the beginning of the semester. This can be done during the summer or winter break with or without the aid of a syllabus.

Review of lecture material during the semester.

Practice problem review with detailed explanations.

Exam and quiz preparation.

All sessions are conducted online with a collaborative whiteboard and the ability of the student to screenshare and upload materials. Additionally, I will meet with you for a FREE 15 minute consultation prior to the beginning of tutoring sessions. The purpose of this consultation is for you to outline your goals and decide if tutoring is the right fit for you.
